Saltillo Science Calendar
Saltillo created a calendar with resources on how to teach science and support AAC users. Each month, the calendar suggests language you can use on an AAC device or low tech flip book, a story you can read, and an experiment you can do with your students. There is a video below which goes through the calendar and a read aloud story that is recommended in the calendar. To access the calendar and its accompanying scientist lab book, please click the blue buttons.
TAAP Strategy (Saltillo Resource)

TAAP is a strategy on how you can implement AAC when discussing Science activties. TAAP stands for Talk about it, Ask a question, Acknowledge via response, and Propel the conversation and/or Predict. The table on the right provides examples of TAAP that you can use on an individual's AAC device or flip book.

Storm Speech Therapy

Storm Speech Therapy has created a variety of resources to support science and the use of AAC. They use science experiments to support vocabulary building. A lot of the visuals they use are from SymbolStix. Some of the experiments they have on their sites are:
-
Balloon Rockets
-
Pop Rocks Expander Experiment
-
Homemade Playdough
-
Rainbow Volcano
-
Fluffy Slime
-
Ghost Rockets
-
Homemade Soap
